Root and CWM recovery for Symphony W150 smart phone. Including HD Theme hack!!

Hi. recently i got in Symphony W150. Its quite good specs and quality in such a price (BDT 1700, around 167 Euros). This is almost same as GIONEE ELIFE E3 except 1gb storage. Gionee ELIFE E3 comes with 16gb storeage Anyway it takes my whole day to search and find the way to install CWM recovery in to that phone. though root was easy. So I collect all the necessary info for Symphony w150 and describe here very easy and simple way How to root and install Clockwork mod recovery (CWM) on Symphony w150. But first  DO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND PROBABLY YOU WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

Root :
 
1. Download And Install Driver For MediaTek Chipset.
2. Restart Pc ( Just to be safe)
3. Download And extract MOTOCHOPPER
4. Connect the phone in USB Debug mode
5. Click RUN.BAT in Motochopper
6. You get Rooted Mobile :)



If every thing ok whole think should take max 5 min. 



CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY (CWM) FOR SYMPHONY W150.


This is very critical part. one mistake may brick your phone. so pay attention unless u dont want expensive paper weight :))


1. Make scatter file with MTKDROID. Press block map then in new window press Create Scatter FIle.

2. Open SP Flash Tools. Load the scatter file created on step 1 then click Read Back.

3. Click Add. then double click on N/A then save.

4. Now in Read back block start address, In the length box copy cach from scatter file created on step 1. Remember it start from 0x.... like this.

5. Now poweroff phone and disconnect from PC. In the SP FLASH TOOLS Press Read Back. wait 1-2 sec then connect the POWEROFF phone to same USB as previous. SP FLASH Tools Should connect the Phone and start reading. here have patience. for me it took around 35 min. When its done just close the new green circle window.

6. If goes ok then then disconnect the phone and power on. Open MTKDROID and connect phone then go to root, backup, recovery and select To process file ROM_ from flash tool. Browse the ROM created on step 5. after succesful unpacking it will offer to create CWM and then press yes. It will create CWM recovery for your Symphony w150. Remember the path where it unpack the ROM.

7. After task complete in MTKDROID disconnect the phone and switch off. then go to SP FLASH TOOLS. In scatter loading browse the MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc created on step 6.  Uncheck all ticks except recovery. click in recovery and select the MTKDROID prepared recovery. Click DOWNLOAD. if everything ok then close the new green circle window. Remember you check only recovery in this section. otherwise your phone maybe brick.

8.  Now disconnect the phone. Press and hold Vol+ and Power together and You will get synphony logo. after 1 sec you will see CWM on your phone. 




HD Theme Hack on Symphony W150

As i told previously symphony its just re branded Gionee ELIFE E3 except minor storage change, it is possible to download more theme other then few stock themes include on the phone. 

1. download build.prop editor from play store.
2. open build.prop editor and grant superuser.
3. search "theme" on build.prop editor
4. change the value of :

• " ro.gn.theme.net.support" no to yes.and save.
• " ro.gn.theme.style " 0 to 1 and save.

5. Now search "change" on build.prop editor and change the value of :

• "ro.gn.change.support " no to yes.

Now reboot your device and check in theme section have download option. but its painfully slow speed to download though.

whole process will take around 1 hour. so be patience and do only if you know what you are doing. thanx and happy Nandroid.

Car Gps Navigation for Cyprus and Greece.

Many of us have Chinese car navigation system. but unfortunately the map is too old probably from 2009. Today i will show u how to update Igo 8 car navigation system. its so easy. u just need to replace Cyprus and Greece map file and POI interested.
 1. Download from here.
2. Replace the Cyprus.fbl and Greece.fbl file to your Igo/content/map
3. Replace Cyprus.POI and Greece.POI file to your Igo/content/poi. 4.restart and done.
 Now you've map and poi for Cyprus and Greece 2011.

IGO MY WAY For Cyprus and Greece. (960x540 pixels) with 2011 Map.

Recently maybe u change your favourite android phone and go for higher resolution like  960x540 pixels phone and find that your favorite IGO my way Gps Navigation dont work (like me), then maybe this article can help u. here i include the modified apk of cyprus and greece and ofcourse i dont take any credit for this.

I was with Galaxy S i9000 and my gps map for cyprus was IGO. but when i switched to Htc Evo 3d, i found that this usual IGO dont work anymore with qHD (540 x 960 pixels). after some googles, i found a modified IGO Apk in xda, and Cyprus and greece map in some other site. so i make combination of this 2 and boom!!! it works great. so here is the step by step to install your favorite IGO.

1. Download here all the files.
2. Copy the Igo folder to the root of your memory card.
3. Inside Igo folder have the IGO apk. install with your file manager.
4. Run and done.

Its very easy to install. I hope this is all u need to run again your favorite IGO My way.

Skype 2.0 (hacked) for Android video calling!!

It is intended for android 2.3 devices only but its works perfactly on some android 2.2 devices like Dell Streak or some HTC and it has:

- No autostart (if skype keeps autostarting, disable skype contacts' sync!)
- Exit button
- Fixed status icons @ notification bar
- Bluetooth audio (experimental / while in-call tap options key and then "Toggle BT Audio". You need to have an active connection with a BT headset first, of course )
- Works with devices with no camera, incompatible CPU (no video-calling of course!)
- Works with devices with only one camera
- Works with devices with 2 cameras
- Has a new settings screen, ADVANCED SETTINGS, where you can customize things!
Just press options key and tap Advanced Settings.

Additional settings available:
- Force-enable video-calling
- Keep screen alive, will prevent screen from going off when in audio-calls
- Force one camera, for users that their devices report they have 2 cameras, while in fact they have only 1!
- Avoid setFPS, for some users with black image on their cameras
- Avoid profiling, for some users that image zooms after some time (not tested at all, don't know if it fixes that issue - not working possibly! )
- Camera resolution picker (Black camera image or zoomed image? Try "Force 320x240"!)
- Focus Mode
- Color Effect
- Scene Mode
- White Balance
- Rotation (will rotate your camera image - thanks to droidrx)
- Flip image you see
- Flip both image you see and send
- (Audio) Ringtone picker, choose your own sound for incoming calls!
- (Audio) Notification sound picker, choose your own notification sound!
- (Audio) Force speaker off after skype calls, if your speaker stays enabled after skype calls
- (Audio) Use MODE_IN_CALL, for devices that audio fails by default

(Unsupported focus/other modes may lead to black camera image, just pick another or revert to "Default"!)

To get video-calling just check "Force-enable video-calling" in Advanced Settings and restart Skype app!

As always, uninstall original skype app, then install my APK!
If you have force-closes or issues, try wiping skype app data using Titanium backup and reinstall.
